Greece prepare for Hungary encounter
European Champions Greece will tackle Hungary in Budapest tomorrow (Saturday May 24th). The Greeks are coming off a 2-0 in over Cyprus in Patras. That game featured a Greek team which was filled with a variety of youth stars; however this match will feature a side likely to compete in this summer’s European Championship.
Greece visit the venue where they ended their EURO 2008 Qualifying campaign. This time the stakes wont be as high, but a good result will be necessary in order to keep up the confidence ahead of their EURO 2008.
On another note, Greece youngster Sokratis Papastathopoulos was called up to the national team roster earlier this week. This match will be his final chance to shine ahead of cut of one squad member.

Goalkeepers: Antonios Nikopolidis (Olympiacos CFP), Konstantinos Chalkias (Aris Thessaloniki FC), Alexandros Tzorvas (OFI Crete FC).

Greece lost 2-3 to Hungary on their home turf, which might be great timing. Good to get a slap in the face before the actual tournament begins! That way we can be sharper when it really counts.
