Greece Maintain Ranking Position

June 4th, 2008 | By: Peter Katsiris | No Comments »

Despite the recent poor performances by Greece, Greece’s slump was not enough to see the Greeks slip in the FIFA rankings. With a 8th place ranking – an all-time high – the Greeks are ahead of some the world’s elite, and touching distance of World Cup finalists, France.

With a 63 point dip, the Greeks are now only ten points ahead of EURO 2008 absentees, England. However, Greece’s slip still saw them cut the gap between them and France by one point, to ten. The rankings will definitely change by the time July hits, but Greece’s ranking will depend on their success in Austria and Switzerland this month.
