Aris visits Slaven in bid to seal progression
Aris FC takes a well earned 1-0 lead to Croatia this evening; as the Thessaloniki club visits NK Slaven Koprivnica in the return leg of their UEFA Cup Second Qualifying round tie. A solitary goal from Sergio Koke was enough for Aris to edge Slaven a fortnight ago, but the slim margin between the clubs makes for an interesting night in Koprivnica.
Aris manager, Enrique Hernandez, knows his side cannot sit back and defend their one goal lead. Making it known that Aris won’t be sitting back and defending, it is reported that Aris will line-up in a 4-2-3-1 formation.
Marian Kelemen will continue to man the posts, while a backline consisting of Sanel Jahić, and Ronaldo Guiaro in the centre of defense. On the wings of the four-man defense will be Kristi Vangjeli and Marco Aurelio. Sitting just ahead of the defense sees Nacho García pair up with Athanassios Prittas, who fills in for an injured Roberto Battión. The flanks of attack will be fuelled by Mario Regueiro and Javito, while Thiago Gentil will patrol in between them. Up front and to his lonesome in attack will be club captain Sergio Koke.
On the Slaven front, the Croatian club will be looking to be the second of its kind to progress to the next round of the UEFA Cup. The home side showed their attacking prowess in the first leg and with the cheering from of their own supporters could propel them to an appearance in the next round.
